State lawmakers are considering a bill that would make it illegal for a divorcing spouse to have sex with someone else in his/her marital home.

Senate Bill 787 was filed by State Sen. Richard Ross, R-Wrentham. He also serves as minority whip. Ross said he filed the bill on behalf of a constituent.

The bill reads:

"In divorce, separation, or 209A proceedings involving children and a marital home, the party remaining in the home shall not conduct a dating or sexual relationship within the home until a divorce is final and all financial and custody issues are resolved, unless the express permission is granted by the courts."

Ross said he does not support the bill.

"When a constituent requested that I file a free petition on his behalf, I did so," Ross said in a statement on his Facebook page. "While the proposal is not one that I support, I do support his right to participate in state government."

The bill was referred to the Joint Committee on the Judiciary for review.

The bill was filed on behalf of a constituent. It has nothing to do with being Rep. or Dem. There's a meme going around on facebook saying Ross filed a bill to prevent women from having sex if they were getting divorced. Total BS. But no one does any research these days to find the truth, and believe everything they read on fb, or elsewhere. This from Ross: "First and foremost, I believe in the democratic process and true representation of the people," said Ross. "For that reason, when a constituent requested that I file a free petition on his behalf, I did so." The point of the bill is to protect children. That said, how much gov't. do we want in our lives?

It's clear that these liberal posters who are criticizing Ross and Republicans have no reading comprehension skills, just an ability to engage in demagoguery. Pathetic but predictable. Liberalism really is a mental disorder.

Liberalism has nothing to do with reading comprehension, sweeping generalizations however, are surely a strong sign of intelligence.

had_enuf... according to The Encylcopedia Brittanica and wikipedia, 'liberalism' is defined as "a political philosophy based on ideas of liberty & equality which support ideas of free & fair elections, civil rights, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, free trade & private property". Based upon that definition, I would only hope that future generations always considered themselves 'LIBERALS'. If it is a 'mental disorder' as you say, thank God I have it.

Damn these politicians can waste time. They shouldn't even waste the time on a bill like this.
