Five Guys, Chipotle, Panera Bread Location Approved

Permits for all three restaurants were approved after months of delays.

The Waltham City Council at its meeting on Monday night approved special permits for three restaurant chains.

Five Guys, Chipotle and Panera Bread will be located at the Main Street Marketplace at 1030 Main. Specifically, the approval means the developer, 1030 Main St. LLC., can reduce the number of required parking spaces.

The approval comes after months of delays partly caused by mistakes in the construction of the site.

None of the restaurants have publicly said when they would open. Aspen Dental, Doctor Express, Massage Envy and SuperCuts are already operating at the site.

I read somewhere, I believe on this site, that Five Guys made a statement that if approved at this meeting yesterday, they could be open by Halloween..

It's about time!! Congrats to this poor landlord who has been loosing so much $$. Thanks to the landlord for making a vacant site look sooo nice!! I know for sure that I will be supporting these local businesses.

I'm glad to have been able to vote for approval of these 3 establishments. However, I must point out that the delays were caused by the developer - not the City Council! Robert G. Logan Councillor Ward 9

I'm looking forward to eating at these places, inside or in nice weather outside. I am so glad the drive-thru was defeated!
European Wax Center of Waltham April 23, 2013 at 03:16 PM
European Wax Center of Waltham is also open in the new Market Place Plaza!! If your looking for the best waxing services around, this is the place to go! They offer FREE first time wax services for women and men and are highly reputable. The inside is unbelievably clean and beautiful & the Wax Specialists are the best I've ever been to. Anyone who waxes knows how important it is to find a good place & I for one have found the best! Check it out:)

I know there were some changes in the plans that weren't approved, but I don't understand why five parking spaces makes such a difference in opening! Yes, food establishments take more spaces than retail, but I'm tired of excuses of it not at ALL being the Special Permit people. It was red tape and power being waved around.
