Waltham Traffic Alert: River Street Area

The detours will be during the daytime.

Watch out Clark Street residents and other Waltham motorists – pipe work is coming to your area.

Starting on Sept. 30, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority will begin work to install a 24-inch inside of an existing 30-inch pipe, according to a notice from the agency. 

That means: Clark Street residents will only be allowed to exit and enter their neighborhood through Ripley Street. Access through River Street will be prohibited for four weeks.

Also, on or around Oct. 2, a four-week detour for the area will begin. Motorists heading east n River Street will be rerouted at Willow Street toward Grove and Main Streets, according to Waltham Police. The detour will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Westbound traffic on River Street will not be impacted.
