Waltham Police: Use Your Seatbelt, Or Get a Ticket

Police increasing efforts to ensure seatbelt use.

The are stepping up efforts to make sure you wear your seatbelt while you are in a vehicle. 

The police, in conjunction with the state Executive Office of Public Safety and Security and other law enforcers, are launching the “Click It or Ticket” campaign to boost seatbelt use reates, according to their Facebook page.

The campaign started on Monday and runs until June 3 with extra police patrols to ensure motorists are using their seatbelts, according to the police. If you are pulled over, anybody in the car not wearing a seatbelt can be issued a ticket.

“A lot of people shrug off the statistics because they see themselves as good drivers,” Waltham Police Sgt. William Gallant said on the Facebook page.“But they forget that they can get hurt because of other reckless drivers. Your best defense is to buckle up.”
