Waltham Police Chief Candidates Revealed

Interviews will be held soon.

Four Waltham Police officers have applied for the police chief position and interviews are currently being scheduled.

According to Personnel Director Kristen Murphy, Acting Chief Keith MacPherson, Captain Donald Feeney, Captain Steven Champeon and Captain William Stanton have applied for the job.

Interviews, which will include speaking with Waltham Mayor Jeannette McCarthy, are being scheduled to take place over the the next two weeks, Murphy said.

Whomever is chosen will replace former police chief Thomas LaCroix, who resigned after being convicted of attacking his wife at their Maynard home in June 2012.

According to city ordinances, a new chief must be chosen from within the ranks of the department. Once the mayor picks a finalist, the council must vote on whether to approve her choice.
