Waltham Police Catch Fleeing Driver After Foot Chase
Police captured a man who tried to escape them during a traffic stop.
Wondering what all of the police activity was in the area of Newton Street on Wednesday night? They were searching for a fleeing driver.
Waltham Police arrested Kyle Patel, 24, of 23 Ash St., and charged him with possession of a class A Drug, resisting arrest, failure to stop for police and driving with a suspended license.
According to police, an officer on patrol noticed Patel, with whom police are very familiar, speeding in the area of Newton Street. Knowing Patel did not have a valid license, the officer began a motor vehicle stop, but Patel jumped out of the car and fled on foot.
Police later captured him. Waltham Patch readers say several officers fanned out in a perimeter in the area.
