Waltham Police Arrest Suspect in Armed Robberies

The suspect allegedly robbed two stores over the summer.

Waltham Police recently arrested the man they believe committed two armed robberies over the summer.

Police arrested Derek McIver, of Waltham, on Aug. 29 and charged him with two counts of armed and masked robbery stemming from the robbery of a Shell station on Waverly Oaks Road in North Waltham and Lakeview Convenience, according to Waltham Police Sgt. Tim King. Police arrested him at 10 Craven Circle at 7:43 p.m. after tracking him to a friend’s home, King said.

As part of their investigation into the robberies, police developed information indicating McIver was involved, King said. From there, police were able to identify McIver from his clothes and video surveillance footage from the robberies, King said.
