Waltham Police Charge Six in Downtown Robbery Attacks

Waltham Police have charged six in connection with the recent downtown robberies.

The following people were arrested and face charges for six of the downtown robberies.

-Yesner Espinal, 20, of Waltham. Charges: armed robbery, unlawful carrying of a firearm, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, threats to commit a crime (murder). Espinal was arrested on Wednesday in connection with a Nov. 25 incident.

-Robert Jackson, a  20-year-old homeless Waltham man. Charges: unarmed robber, assault and battery.

Police arrested four other individuals, all juveniles ages 15 - 17, in connection with the robbery attacks. Police did not issue their names but said they were linked to four of the six robberies. Each of the four faces a count of unarmed robbery.

Waltham Police Sgt. Tim King said each of the four juveniles is from Waltham. 

Police said arrests in other unsolved robberies are "imminent."

Police do not believe the individuals arrested are linked the two unarmed robberies at Gordon's Fine Wine & Liquors this week. 

Police first warned the public of the attacks on Dec. 13 and had increased patrols in the area prior to that. The same day, police announced they were investigating an Oak Street robbery that had three people attack a man on Oak Street. On Dec. 15, a pedestrian on Main Street was attacked by five mean and robbed in what police said was likely linked the the prior attacks.

Police are asking the public to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings as they travel through the downtown area. Police have increased patrols in the area.
