Waltham Man Charged with Child Rape

A 35-year-old Waltham man is facing serious charges for allegedly raping a child, according to police and court records.

William Valladres, of 138 Charles St., was arrested on Dec. 4 and charged with: two counts of enticing a child under 16, two counts of reckless endangerment of a child, two counts of assault to rape a child, two counts of assault and battery, furnishing a false name or Social Security number upon being arrested, assault and battery, two counts of assault and battery, and one count of indecent assault and battery on a person under 14.

He was also arrested on warrant charges or assault and battery (two counts) witness intimidation, destruction of property over $250, and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Valladres is set for a probable cause hearing on Jan. 6, 2014, according to Waltham District Court records. A judge set bail at $1 million bond and $100,000 cash.

Much of the court record is impounded due to the nature of the case, but the document indicate the victim and Valladres know each other. Also, federal immigration authorities have placed a detainer on Valladres indicating it wants to take custody of him.
