Waltham Man Busted for DUI-Related Crash in Newton

The suspect allegedly drove into several parked cars in Newton.

A Waltham man was arrested in the early morning hours of April 7 after he allegedly drove under the influence and crashed into parked cars in Newton.

Angel Ledesma Fuerte, 30, of 7 Pine St., was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol (third offense), marked lanes violation and eight counts of open containers, Newton Police said.

According to reports, police responded to Mague Avenue just after midnight on April 7 for reports of a drunk person in the driveway. When police arrived on scene, they found a driver asleep at the wheel of a black GMC Yukon.

Police said it appeared as though the driver veered off Mague Avenue and crashed into several cars parked in a driveway. 

When police found the sleeping driver, the car was allegedly still running and in drive, reports said.

Once the driver woke up, police said he had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and smelled strongly of alcohol.
