Waltham Man Arrested in Westborough For Driving Offenses

Also, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has an immigration detainer on the suspect.

A man arrested by on Thursday, Aug. 9 for motor vehicle infractions is also eyed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to Westborough Police Chief Alan Gordon.

Alexandre Queiroz Do Norte, 23, of 20 Lexington Terrace, Apt. C, Waltham was arrested at 12:17 p.m. Thursday on Turnpike Road by Officers Tyson Delong and Jeffrey Johnson, according to the police log.

Police saw Do Norte driving "through the Shell gas station on Route 9 at Lyman Street, using it to avoid the red light," Gordon said.

Police charged Do Norte with trespassing with a motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and furnishing police with a false name/Social Security number.

They also arrested him on a straight warrant from Duxbury Police for motor vehicle violations, including driving without a license and providing police with a false name, Gordon said.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has an immigration detainer on Do Norte, who is originally from Brazil, Gordon said. An "immigration detainer" is a request from ICE to another law enforcement agency that they be notified before a suspect is released so that ICE can take custody of the suspect, according to the Immigration Policy Center.
