Waltham Man Appears in Court For MBTA Assault

A Waltham man accused of assaulting an MBTA police officer in Boston pleaded not guilty to the charges during a Nov. 1 hearing in Boston Municipal Court, according to the Boston Globe.

Michael Cammisaro, 57, of Waltham, is accused of assaulting the officer on Oct. 31 at the Park Street station after allegedly "piggybacking" through the fare gate without paying.

Cammisaro was released on $250 cash bail and will return to court on Nov. 8, according to the Globe. Cammisaro has a history of mental issues, according to the paper.
