UPDATE: Waltham Fire Rescues Dog From Charles River

Waltham firefighters transported the dog to an animal hospital.

UPDATE, 5:40 p.m.: Waltham Fire Captain Tim Pratt confirmed a dog was rescued from the river. Two firefighters used a boat to pluck the dog out of the river. The dog was taken to VESCONE animal hospital in Waltham for evaluation.

Waltham firefighters are transportating the dog to VESCONE animal hospital in Waltham for medical assistance, according to scanner reports. The dog's owner is on the scene.
