The Waltham City Council has reappointed Acting Police Chief Keith MacPherson as Thomas LaCroix remains out on administrative leave.
The Waltham City Council on Monday, Dec. 10 approved MacPherson remaining as the Acting Chief in place of LaCroix. LaCroix is facing serious charges for allegedly attacking his wife and her friend in June. MacPherson took over for LaCroix immediately after the incident.
Jury selection for LaCroix's trial is scheduled to begin in February.
Mayor Jeanette McCarthy has previously said she is waiting for the outcome of the criminal case before making a decision on whether to replace LaCroix.
