Update on Former Police Chief Pension

Former Waltham Police Chief Thomas LaCroix has applied for retirement benefits.

The Waltham Retirement Board hearing for former Waltham Police Chief Thomas LaCroix has been rescheduled, according to Waltham Retirement Director Joe Juppe.

The hearing, originally scheduled for Aug. 28, will now be held Sept. 25 at 4:45 p.m. at City Hall, Juppe told Waltham Patch. Also, LaCroix has requested a closed hearing, to which he is entitled under retirement regulations.

Technically, the board must approve the request during its Aug. 28 meeting, which Juppe said they will do.

The hearing was rescheduled to accommodate the schedule of Nick Poser, LaCroix's attorney for retirement issues, Juppe said.

LaCroix, in July, was sentenced to probation for attacking his wife at their Maynard home in June 2012. He resigned soon after he was sentenced.
