2 Waltham Men Busted for Trafficking Drugs; Police Find 160 Grams of Drugs

Police say the pair was conducting a drug transaction in a Moody Street parking lot.

recently busted two men with more than 160 grams of drugs.

Christian, Torres, 31, of 21 Auburn St. and Bernardo Betancourt, 36, of 67 Lowell St., were arrested on Aug. 7 on charges that they were conducting a drug transaction in the parking lot of on Moody Street, according to Waltham Police Detective Sgt. Tim King.

Both men are facing charges for trafficking heroin and seperate charges for trafficking cocaine, King said.

At around 8:42 p.m. Waltham officers attached to the Middlesex County Drug Task Force were on patrol when they recognized a car in the parking lot at 591 Moody St, King said. Two officers approached the car and saw the men exchanging money and a bag of what police believe was cocaine, King said. 

Police searched the car and found 80 grams of cocaine and 80 grams of heroin, King said. They also found a large amount of money, King said. They also found weapons, but King did not specify what type of weapon.
