Police Investigating Two More Unarmed Robberies in Waltham

Anybody with information on the incident should call police at 781-314-3600.

Waltham Police are investigating two unarmed robberies that occurred on Main Street on Wednesday.

Both robberies happened in or near Gordon's Fine Wine & Liquors at 894 Main St., police said. However, police said they do not believe the two incidents are connected to the recent string of robberies. The descriptions and method of attack, police said, do not math the pattern in the downtown robberies.

At around 11:30 a.m., police responded to a report of an unarmed robbery down the street from the liquor store, Waltham Police Sgt. Joe Guigno said. During this incident, a man knocked a woman over and took her purse, Guigno said.

The suspect is described as a 20-year-old man, 5' 8'' tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt or jacket and blue jeans, Guigno said.

The victim was not injured, Guigno said.

The second robbery occurred an hour later when a man, with a similar description, knocked a woman to the ground in the parking lot of the liquor store, Guigno said.

The victim was not injured, Guigno said.

In both incidents, the suspect fled toward Russell Street, Guigno said. In one of the incidents, the suspect was described as white. Police believe the two incidents are linked.

Anybody with information on the incidents should call police at 781-314-3600, or the anonymous tip line at 781-314-3636. Information can also be left through the department's Facebook page.
