Police Investigating Road Flare Fire at Waltham Boys & Girls Club

The incident occurred on Dec. 10.

Waltham and state officials are investigating an unusual fire apparently started by a road flare in a van at the Boys & Girls Club in Waltham.

On Tuesday, Waltham firefighters were called to 20 Exchange St., the club's location, for a fire that had been extinguished in one of their vans, according to Waltham Fire Lt. Scott Perry.

Firefighters discovered the fire had begun with a road flare in the back of the van, Perry said. The fire caused a bit of damage.

Waltham Police, along with the Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal's Office are investigating the incident. Waltham Police said nobody had been arrested or charged as of Wednesday.

Nobody was hurt in the incident, Perry said.
