Police arrested Main at 2:54 a.m. on Oct. 19 after an investigation into the Oct. 18 home invasion at 81 Maple St., according to Waltham Police Sgt. Tim King. Police arrested Main at his Belmont home.

On Oct. 18 at around 1 p.m., a man and his girlfriend were in the apartment when they suddenly heard noises in the area, King said. Suddenly, the two suspects broke into the dwelling and pushed both victims to the floor face down.

One of the suspects said, "if you move, you will get your head cut off,” King said.

One suspect put a knife to the male victim’s shoulder and the other stuck a gun in the female victim’s face., King said.

From there, the two suspects discussed wanting drugs or money from the house and searched it, King said. The suspects did not find what they were looking for, he said.

Police arrived later and found the male victim with a cut from the knife, King said, adding the victim was treated for minor injuries but was not taken to a hospital.

After an investigation, police determined the two suspects entered the apartment through a fire escape. Main was identified as a suspect and arrested, King said.

Police are not releasing further details on the second suspect.
