Motor Vehicle Homicide Trial of Waltham Woman Starts Today

Blanca Contreras faces charges in the death of Scott Coxall.

The motor vehicle homicide trial of a Waltham woman is scheduled to begin today at Waltham District Court, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney's office.

Blanca Contreras, a native of Guatemala who is in the country illegally, is facing charges for motor vehicle homicide, leaving the scene causing personal injury in connection with the Nov. 23, 2011 crash that killed Scott Coxall, 39 of Waltham. 

Authorities believe Contreras was driving the car that struck Coxall but her boyfriend, William Vasquez, has told Waltham Police he was driving. Contreras has also said she was not the driver.

Police have charged Vasquez with witness intimidation because they believe he is lying about being the driver.
