More Details on Unfounded Shooting in Waltham
The incident occurred at 101 Prospect St.
According to Waltham Police, the report of a shooting at the Winchester Crane apartments on Prospect Street was a hoax.
"It was a hoax call," Lt. Joe Brooks told Waltham Patch.
At around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the public housing complex at 101 Prospect St. for a report of a shooting in a specific apartment, according to police. Officers entered the building, searched the apartment and other units near it and found no indications of a shooting.
The call was later traced to an phone number out of state, according to police.
