Man Suffers Severe Burns in Waltham Fire

The fire was 83 Hall St. in Waltham.

A 24-year-old man sustained severe burns during a morning fire on Hall Street in Waltham, according to the fire department. 

At around 7:55 a.m., firefighters were called to the multi-family home 83 Hall St. for a report of a building fire, according to Lt. Scott Perry. The fire in a third floor room was nearly out by the time firefighters arrived, Perry said, but crews located  the man in a second floor room and pulled him to safety.

"He and some burns that were severe in certain areas," Perry said, including the victim's feet and back. 

The victim was transported to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Perry said and was conscious and breathing when he was taken from the scene. There is no word on his condition. 

The State Fire Marshal was notified of the incident because of the victim's injury, Perry said.
