Lexington Police: ‘Major Heroin Dealer’ From Waltham Busted

The came after a local drug task force set its sights on the pair of alleged dealers, investigators said. 

Eleazar Fernandez, 31, of Waltham, and Daniel E. White, 26, of 24 Eddy St., Waltham, were arrested on Feb. 15 after allegedly making a heroin deal while under police surveillance. The deal, and arrest, occurred in the Lahey Clinic’s parking area on Hayden Avenue in Lexington.

“They’ve been targets for some time now,” said Lt. Det. Michael McLean of the Lexington Police Department. “They were being surveilled when the deal went down.”

According to McLean, investigators from the South Middlesex County Drug Task Force — which covers Lexington, Arlington, Belmont, Lincoln, Newton, Waltham, Watertown and Weston — believe Fernandez was the supplier to White, and possibly others in the area.

Approximately 10 grams of heroin were recovered during the bust, according to McLean, who noted 18 grams is considered trafficking weight for heroin. As a result of the arrest, a search of Fernandez’s home was carried out and larger amounts of heroin and cash were recovered there.

According to Lexington Police, Fernandez gave a Graymore Road address in Waltham as his residence at the time of his booking at the Lexington Police Station. The location where the search warrant was excuted and where the drugs were found was 1105 Lexington St., Building 1 Apt. 7, Waltham, according to LPD.

“It appears that Fernandez was a major heroin dealer in the area,” said McLean. “I know the task force works extremely hard at what they do. Anytime they can take down a pretty prominent dealer in one of our member communities, it’s a win for everybody.”
