K-9 Unit Called to Possible Armed Home Invasion in Newton Near Waltham Line

One suspect appears to be in custody.

One police dog has responded to the scene of a possible armed home invasion to assist with the search for the invaders; another one has been requested.

Newton Police are currently investigating that possible armed home invasion on Falmouth Road, near the Waltham line, according to Newton Police Officer Eric Rosenbaum.

He says police are still working to confirm that the incident was, in fact, an armed home invasion.

According to Patch Editor Ryan Grannan-Doll, who is on scene, it appears as though one suspect is in custody on Fuller Street in Waltham, which is a short distance from the reported home invasion on Falmouth Street in Newton.

Police have been looking for two males who were involved in the incident who were both reportedly wearing masks and holding a knife.

No injuries have been reported, Rosenbaum said.

According to scanner reports, Newton Police has requested the State Police air wing to help with the search.
