Jerry Remy Plans to Return to Announcing
Jared Remy, the son of Jerry, is accused of murdering his girlfriend.
Jerry Remy said on Monday he plans to return to Red Sox announcing during the 2014 season, according to the Boston Globe.
The announcement comes months after Jared Remy, the son of Jerry, was arrested in August after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend, Jennifer Martel, to death at their Waltham apartment.
Immediately after the incident, Jerry Remy took a leave of absence.
Jerry Remy made the return announcement during a meeting with reporters on Monday citing support from his family, friends and his health, according to the Globe.
