Jared Remy Allegedly Assaulted Detainee with Chair, Bar of Soap
The Boston Globe reported new details of the alleged assault Tuesday.
Jared Remy used a chair and a bar of soap to attack a fellow detainee last Thursday at Middlesex Jail in Cambridge, an official has told the Boston Globe.
Remy, the son of Boston Red Sox broadcaster Jerry Remy, is accused of stabbing his girlfriend, Jennifer Martel, to death last August in their Waltham home. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
As a result of the alleged jailhouse attack, Remy, 35, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He is expected to be arraigned on April 24 in Cambridge District Court.
