Friends, Family of Murder Victims Warned Police of Tsarnaev

Friends became suspicious after Tsarnaev's actions after the murders.

Friends and family of the men killed in the triple murder in Waltham in 2011 say they told police about Tamerlan Tsarnaev, while law enforcement officials believe they could have caught the man before he allegedly bombed the Boston Marathon, according to a New York Times report.

The report quotes some of the friends and family of the victims, Brendan Mess, Erik Weissman and Raphael Teken, who said they became suspicious when Tsarnaev did not show up at his friends’ funerals.

A law enforcement official denied that investigators failed to follow up on tips about Tsarnaev’s possible involvement in the murders.
