Fire Doused at Waltham High School

The fire erupted in a trash can.

A small fire was quickly extinguished at Waltham High School at around 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Waltham Police.

The fire erupted in a barrel in a bathroom, according to police. Students were evacuated but later allowed to return and gather their belongings before being dismissed for the day. 

"Once the fire was contained it was determined there was no threat to students," police said on their Facebook page. 

According to the high school's resource officer, Kristen Tracey, the incident is being investigated.
