FBI Agent Cleared in Ibraghim Todashev’s Death

The full report will be made public Tuesday.

A Florida prosecutor has determined that an FBI agent was justified when he used deadly force against Ibraghim Todashev, the Chechen man linked to the Boston Marathon bombing suspects, according to the Washington Post.

Florida state prosecutor Jeffrey Ashton’s full independent report is expected to be released Tuesday.

An FBI agent, who has not been identified by authorities, shot and killed Todashev on May 22, 2013, after the 27-year-old mixed-martial arts fighter allegedly attacked the agent with a metal pole during questioning in his Orlando apartment.

According to the FBI, prior to being killed, Todashev implicated himself and Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, also now deceased, in the 2011 triple homicide in Waltham.

The FBI has previously cleared the agent. The Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division is finishing its own investigation, according to the Washington Post.
