Father of Triple Murder Suspect May Sue FBI Over Son's Death

Ibragim Todashev's father has been meeting with lawyers and human rights groups.

The father of one of the Waltham Triple Murder suspects may sue the FBI over  his son’s death.

Ibragim Todashev died after being shot by law enforcement officials who were at his Orlando apartment to interview him about the 2011 murders in Waltham. Abdulbaki Todashev told the Boston Globe he is preparing to file civil suit against the FBI for wrongful death, and has been meeting with lawyers and human rights groups.

Ibragim Todashev is suspected of committing the triple murder along with Tamerlan Tsarnaev - one of the men suspected of carrying out the Boston Marathon Bombings.

Few details have been released about Todashev’s death, and the FBI announced it is conducting its own investigation. Law enforcement agencies in Massachusetts and Florida have declined to do their own investigation into the incident, saying it would be inappropriate to investigate and ongoing Federal investigation.

The medical examiners in the case said the FBI has barred them from releasing details of the death investigation.

The ACLU has called for an independent investigation into Todashev’s death.
