In total, 9 people have been charged in connection with the robberies.

Waltham District Court
Waltham District Court

The cases of five of the alleged downtown Waltham robbers are proceeding through the court system. See the latest court proceedings on the suspects:

-Robert Jackson, 21, homeless: Jackson was arraigned on Dec. 19. At a Dec. 23 dangerousness hearing, a judge denied prosecutors’ request to hold Jackson, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s office. The judge set bail at $2,500. If Jackson posts bail, he must remain under house arrest and stay away from any of his victims, the DA's office said. He must also stay away from the crime scene and any witnesses. He is scheduled for a Jan. 2 hearing.

-Yesner Espinal, 20, of 688 Moody St., #2: Espinal was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Dec. 20. An attorney was appointed to him and he is scheduled for a Jan. 22 pre-trial hearing, according to court records.

Michael LeMay, 18, of 262 Crescent St.: LeMay is being held without bail pending a Dec. 27 dangerousness hearing, according to the DA's office. An attorney has been appointed to him, according to court records.

-Yoshuel DeVictoria Lopez, 30, of 131 Bright St.: Lopez was placed on house arrest with a GPS bracelet, according to the DA's office. He is scheduled for a Dec. 31 probable cause hearing. An attorney has been appointed to him, according to court records.

-Kenny Jean, 19, of Waltham: Jean is being held without bail pending a Dec. 31 dangerousness hearing, according to the DA’s office.

NOTE: Four other juvenile suspects have been arrested in connection with the robberies. Their court files are not public.

Yup! Common sense noticed that! IF I were him I would NOT post bail!

Great update! For subsequent reports it would be great if the WPD included info on where some of these suspects are being held. (As a graduate of the great WPD Citizen's Police Academy I would love to think these punks are enjoying the great hospitality in the detention cells at the Waltham Police station, with enough time on their hands to think about whether they wish to return.)

Question for the WPD: Given that Yesner Espinal's photo has been published, why not also publish the photos of the other culprits mentioned above? Yes I know, the charges against him are more serious than the other suspects and everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but where do you draw the line? My simple thought is that in one incident a 73 year old woman was thrown to the ground by the attacker and she had a head injury - what if it had been a fatality? IMHO the public is entitled to see the faces of the current (adult) suspects - Is that too much to ask?
