Cause of Waltham Fire Determined

The cause of the fire at 17 Prospect St. Ave. has been deemed electrical, according to the Waltham Fire Dept.

Firefighters on Jan. 24 knocked down a 3-alarm blaze at the multi-family home. Nobody was injured. 

After an investigation into the cause, firefighters determined the fire was electrical, according to Waltham Fire Lt. Scott Perry

According to preliminary estimates, the blaze caused $140,000 in damage to the house and $20,000 in damage to its contents, Perry said. The third floor attic space, where the fire erupted, sustained major water and fire damage, Perry said.
