Arrest Made in Sunday Shooting in Waltham

The suspect is 20 years old.

Waltham Police have arrested a Brighton woman in connection with the Nov. 17 shooting at an apartment complex on Middlesex Road.

At around 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 19, police arrested Kayla Spangenberg, 20, of Brighton, in connection with the shooting, according to police. She was arrested at Waltham Police Headquarters with her attorney present. Spangenberg had been a "person of interest" in the case. 

Spangenberg is facing the following charges: attempted murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (firearm) and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.

Spangenberg was arraigned at Waltham District Court on Tuesday and is being held pending a Nov. 22 dangerousness hearing. The investigating is continuing.
