63 Level 2 or 3 Sex Offenders in Waltham

Level 2 and 3 sex offenders pose a moderate or high risk of reoffense, respectively, according to the state.

Waltham has 49 Level 2 and 14 Level 3 sex offenders, according to the state Sex Offender Registry Board website.

Massachusetts has three classification levels for sex offenders, Level 3 being for the most severe offenders.

Level 2 and 3 sex offenders pose a moderate or high risk of reoffense, respectively, according to the state. For both levels, “the degree of dangerousness posed to the public is such that a public safety interest is served by public availability of registration information,” according to the state.

More information on Waltham’s Level 3 sex offenders, including names, addresses and photos, can be found on the state and city websites.

I think its unfair to only list how many are here in Waltham without giving a comparison to other cities and towns in the area. Percentage to population etc might be a more balanced reporting.

@Gary - true, but still - 63 in Waltham seems to be a lot.

I agree. I guess that point is, it's not isolated to just Waltham.

I'll bet that the registered sex offender list doesn't total 63 for Weston, Wellesley, Dover, Wayland, Sudbury, Needham, and Lexington combined. Once again, all of the crap lands in Waltham!

There's something off with these numbers. If you search the registry for "Waltham," you get 19 level 2 or 3 offenders, with 4 people listed twice because they live and work in Waltham. John Waller, where does the 63 number come from?
