Christmas Trees!

Has anyone else noticed all the Christmas trees littering the sidewalks of Waltham? When is the city going to pick them up? My neighbors tree has been on the sidewalk for almost 2 weeks.

The Triple Crown of ineptitude-the leaf pickup, the snow plowing, and the Christmas tree pickup.

Personally I think the city is too vague on this pick up schedule. One week after Christmas day there should be a city wide sweep. Then 2 weeks after that a 2nd and last city wide sweep. If you put your tree up early and take it down right after New Year's you are covered, the rest of the city can enjoy their trees, take them down when they please and keep them off the sidewalks till the final sweep.

I called the City and they apologized, saying that they're behind schedule due to the snow storm of a couple weeks ago and the subsequent cleanup. They took down my address and said my tree would be removed this week...

I saw two trucks going through my neighborhood today. Technically the rule is pickup on trash day for the 3 weeks after Christmas, which does sound like 3 chances for pickup one per week. I think it has turned into just a last roundup.
