Obituary: Marie 'Jan' Ryberg

Mrs. Marie R. "Jan" (Roach) Ryberg of Plymouth, formerly of Waltham, died Thursday, May 22, 2014 in the Elizabeth Seton Residence in Wellesley. She was 86. Mrs. Ryberg was born in Waltham on May 7, 1928, a daughter of the late John and Donatilde (Chaisson) Roach.

Jan had lived for many years in Waltham and was a graduate of Waltham High School, Class of 1946.

She was the wife of the late Ret. Waltham Deputy Fire Chief Charles F. Ryberg, the mother of the late Allen Ryberg and the sister of the late John Roach.

Jan is survived by her children, Mark Ryberg and his wife, Debbie, of Stuart, Florida, Glenn Ryberg and his companion, Lisa, of Lancaster, Donna Lexander and her husband, Jimmy, of The Villages, Florida, and Patty Marqus and her husband, Rocky, of Plymouth; her sister, Marjorie Avery, of Dover New Hampshire; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Jan's life by gathering for calling hours on Wednesday, May 28, from 4-8 p.m. in the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main St., (Route 20), Waltham, and again on Thursday morning when her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
