Obituary: Joseph Collura, Worked for City of Waltham

Collura died Thursday, May 8. He was 83.

Joseph J. Collura, of Hollis, New Hampshire, formerly of Waltham, died Thursday, May 8, 2014, in Saint Joseph's Hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire. He was 83. Mr. Collura was born in Waltham on July 26, 1930, a son of the late Charles and Isabella (Seminerio) Collura.

Joe had lived in Waltham for over 70 years and worked for the City of Waltham until his retirement. He worked very hard to support his family and enjoyed nothing better than spending time with them especially on Sundays when dinner was at noontime.

Joe served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

He was the husband of the late Alice L. (Morrow) Collura and brother of the late Salvatore Collura, Michael Collura, Charles Collura, Ella Iagulli, Jenney Collura and Mary Lombard.

Joe is survived by his children, Isabel J. Collura and her husband David Sabo of Hollis, New Hampshire, and Judith A. Grossi and her husband Reynard of Milford, New Hampshire, his grandchildren, Joseph Grossi, Andrea Grossi, Shaun Sabo and Julianne Sabo; his sister, Grace Alberico and her husband Fred of Waltham and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Joe's life by gathering at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main St. (Route 20), Waltham, where his funeral service will be held at 11 am. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
