Obituary: Jack Davis, Lifelong Waltham Resident

Davis died Friday, July 18. He was 67.

Jack Davis, of Waltham, passed away peacefully Friday evening, July 18, 2014 with loving family by his side at the Stanley P. Tippet Hospice Home in Needham at the age of 67. 

Born on Aug. 4, 1946 in Waltham, son of the late Charles William Davis and Alice (Schools) Davis, Jack was a lifelong resident of Waltham.

A graduate of Waltham High School with the Class of 1965, Jack was employed as Purchasing Manager for Ward Processing Corporation in Holliston until his retirement.

Jack was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He cherished his grandchildren and the time spent with them. He was a avid runner and finished 11 marathons and numerous road races.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years Jane E. (Tyman) Davis, his loving children Kerry P. Jacques and her husband Steven of Wallingford, Connecticut, and Waltham Firefighter Andrew Davis and his wife Cheryl of Norwood, his cherished grandchildren Tyler and Leah Jacques and Donovan Davis, his dear siblings Betty Ann Giusti of Hudson, his twin sister Janice Laffin of Framingham, Judy Sumner of Waltham and Linda Frost of Waltham. In addition he is survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends. 

He is predeceased by his beloved son Jeff Davis and siblings Ronald Davis, Sandra Gregorio and Charles William “Billy” Davis. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, on Wednesday morning, July 23, at 9 a.m. with a mass of Christian burial in celebration of Jack’s life at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham, at 10:30 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, July 22, from 4-8 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking attendants.
