Obituary: J. Henry 'Jack' Guindon, Owned Waltham Supermarket

Guindon died Sunday, July 13. He was 79.

J. Henry “Jack” Guindon, 79, of Plymouth, formerly of Mashpee and Sudbury, passed away at the Beth Israel Hospital in Plymouth on Sunday, July 13.

Beloved husband of Helen “Sue” (Johnson) Guindon of Plymouth. Loving father of Diane Guindon of Franklin, Joyce Lukkarinen and her husband Mark of Merrimack, New Hampshire, Nancy Stearns and her husband Eddie of Marion, Susan Connor of Plymouth, Laura Guindon of Yarmouth Port, Scott Guindon and his wife Heather of Plymouth, Dan Guindon and his wife Tara of Holden and Emily Callahan and her husband Erik of Fitchburg. Brother of Marie Greim of Lexington, Paul Guindon of Franklin and Bobby Guindon of Venice, Florida. He also leaves 21 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Jack was born in Boston the son of Henry and Mary (Hopkins) Guindon; he graduated from Roslindale High School and attended Northeastern University. Jack served the U.S. Army as an MP. He managed and owned the Waltham Supermarket in Waltham. Jack was an avid golfer; he collected model trains, and he loved to build additions to his homes. His greatest passion was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his extended family.

Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 state Road (Route 3A), Plymouth (Manomet), on Wednesday, July 16, from 5-8 p.m. All other services and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5 Manley St., W. Bridgewater, MA 02379.
