Obituary: Francis Lord, Owned Buddy's Transport

Lord was a lifelong Waltham resident.

The following is from Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapel.

Francis Lord, of Waltham, passed away early Sunday morning, May 11, 2014, at the Wingate of Needham after a long illness at the age of 65.

Born on Jan. 18, 1949 in Waltham, son of the late Francis B. Lord Sr. and Rosemary (Hildebrand) Lord, Buddy was a lifelong resident of Waltham.

Buddy was a graduate of Waltham High School. He owned and operated Buddy’s Transport, a livery service in Waltham, for many years. He loved his job and the people he provided service to through the years.

He enjoyed the outdoors, both hunting and spending time near the ocean.

Buddy is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Shirley A. (Dagostino) Lord, his loving sons Sean B. Lord and Waltham Police Officer Adam J. Lord and his wife Melissa, all of Waltham, his dear brother Christopher Lord of Pennsylvania, his father-in-law Gennaro Dagostino of Waltham and his bother-in-law Gerry Dagostino of Waltham. In addition, he is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Brother of the late Rosemary Lord and Peter Lord and late daughter-in-law Virginia Rose Dagostino. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapel, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, on Wednesday morning, May 14, at 8 a.m. with a mass of Christian burial in celebration of Francis Life at Saint Mary’s Church, 145 School St., Waltham at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting Hours will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday prior to the funeral mass from 8:30–9:45 a.m. Parking attendants on duty.
