Obituary: Doris Fetterhoff, Worked at Chateau Restaurant

Fetterhoff died Monday, March 3. She was 89.

Mrs. Doris V. Fetterhoff, of Waltham, died on Monday, March 3, 2014 in Newton Healthcare Center. She was 89.

Doris was born in Brookline on Dec. 24, 1924, a daughter of the late Harold D. and Hazel D. (Miles) Clinch. She graduated from Brighton High School and had worked for over 20 years at E.G.&G. Corp in Waltham as a collator. She then went to work at the Chateau Restaurant in Waltham where she was an office administrator, working well into her 80s.

She was a former member of Lakeview Congregational Church and was a member of the Southside Senior Citizens and the Beaver Brook Dancers. She loved music and dancing and enjoyed attending the Reagle Players shows here in Waltham.

She leaves her son, Donald B. Fetterhoff of Farmington, Maine; her daughter-in-law, Gail E. Drakos and her husband, Richard, of Waltham; her grandchildren, Melissa Fetterhoff of Shirley, Megan Ackroyd and her husband, Richard, of Ayer, David Fetterhoff of Littleton and Donald Fetterhoff and his wife, Anna, of Leominster; her great grandchildren, Tyler Ackroyd and Jacob Fetterhoff, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews including Louise Vinton, of Foxborough, who was very devoted to Doris during her recent illness.

She was also the mother of the late David R. Fetterhoff, sister of the late Donald "Harland" Clinch and Harold Clinch and former wife of the late Charles B. Fetterhoff.

Doris' family would like to acknowledge the staff at Newton Healthcare whose care and compassion over the last few months was gratefully appreciated.

Family and friends will honor and remember Doris' life by gathering for calling hours on Friday, March 7, from 4-8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Immanuel United Methodist Church, Waltham, where her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
