Ben Speaks

Learn about "Ben Speaks," an organization developed to help kids deal with the pains and pressures of adolescence.

I was at a restaurant recently, and a basket of beautiful bracelets at one of the tables caught my eye.  It turned out that the jewelry was created by a woman named Judy Giovangelo, who lost her teenage son to suicide. After his death, she founded "Ben Speaks," an organization to educate children on alternate ways to deal with issues that so many of them are facing today. We chatted a bit, I bought a bracelet, and we agreed to keep in touch.  Here's a brief blurb on the focus of this organization:

"The mission of Ben Speaks is to empower our youth to be the change they want to see in the world. To stomp out the growing trends of bullying, depression and teen suicide and to create a new and positive language for our youth.  What you think of yourself ... is what you create!"

Isn't that a great message?  Her website is www.benspeaks.org. Check it out and share it with as many people as possible.  Her jewelry really is a work of art, and the proceeds support this wonderful cause.
