Let's send Peter Koutoujian to Congress

Dear Editor,

Waltham is about to pick its next Member of Congress.  For me there’s only one choice: our native son, Peter Koutoujian.  Peter’s always stood up for us and the issues we care about like women’s rights, gun control, and healthcare for all.  Let’s do the same; let’s send him to Congress.

The first time Peter ran for office he beat an anti-choice opponent.  His first speech on the State House floor was supporting our State’s assault weapons ban.  And as Chair of the Public Health committee when Massachusetts implemented first-of-its-kind healthcare reforms, Peter has the experience in healthcare issues the current Congress seems to lack.

I admit I’m slightly biased: I was Peter’s guidance counselor in South Junior High School in Waltham.  I, like many of your readers, have known him his entire life.  But that’s how I can say this with certainty: Peter Koutoujian has always had Waltham’s back.  As a high schooler he chaperoned our residents who were mentally challenged to bowling every Friday to his days as a State Representative fighting for Waltham’s issues, Peter has always been there for our city.

On October 15th, let’s be there for Peter. Let’s send someone we know, love, and can count on to Congress.
