PETER KOUTOUJIAN’S GRASSROOTS CAMPAIGN EXPANDING QUICKLY AFTER ACTIVE AUGUST

As Race For Congress Heads Into September, Koutoujian Campaign Announces Grassroots Blitz, Labor Endorsement

WALTHAM – More than 500 people have now volunteered for Peter Koutoujian’s campaign for Congress as the campaign today announced the milestone and other results of an active grassroots effort in the month of August.

“We’ve seen more than 500 volunteers lead and participate in more than 300 grassroots events in every corner of the district,” said Koutoujian’s Field Director, Chelsie Ouellette.  “And that’s in August alone.  We’re growing at an aggressive pace as we head into Labor Day weekend and don’t plan on stopping.  In fact, our volunteers will be out in full force this Saturday, Sunday, and Monday to spread Peter’s strong, progressive message to every family and voter in the Fifth District.”

In another significant boost to the grassroots effort, the Teamsters 122 union organization today announced its endorsement of Koutoujian.

“I’m proud to have earned the endorsement of Teamsters 122,” said Koutoujian.  “Massachusetts is lucky to have such a passionate group of public servants and I’m lucky to have them committed to my campaign.  This has been an active August, reaching out to residents and voters across the district.  With their help our operation will continue to grow and together we can send a strong, progressive message to Congress and the country.”

Teamsters 122 joins MSSOA/NAGE Local 57 and the IBCO in endorsing Koutoujian’s campaign.  All three know Koutoujian’s work best, speaking highly of his ability to negotiate fair and effective contracts.
