Peter Koutoujian Wraps Up 'Weekend of Walking' with Day of Door Knocking
As Campaign Heads Into September, Koutoujian Doubles Down on Grassroots Investment, Canvasses Five Cities And Towns Himself
Peter Koutoujian today wrapped up his “Weekend of Walking,” visiting five Fifth District cities and towns, in another sign of his commitment to grassroots campaigning.
“Fifth District voters know that Democracy isn’t a spectator sport,” said Koutoujian. “If you want to represent our cities and towns, you have to knock every door and speak to every voter. Since Day One I’ve been committed to spreading my message at the grassroots—it’s how I campaign and also how I’ll govern. Lucky for me, I love knocking doors.”

“I was just impressed to see Peter in the neighborhood himself,” said Sandra Tremarche, of Watertown. “Peter went to Whittemore Elementary School here in Waltham, and he makes a point of coming back to speak with the next generation’s students. You just don’t see the kind of hands-on governing Peter’s always advocated. He’s definitely got my vote.”
Heading into the weekend Koutoujian’s campaign announced that more than 500 volunteers had lead or participated in more than 300 grassroots events in the month of August alone. Koutoujian also received the endorsement of the Teamsters Local 122 union organization, adding their name to the list of groups supporting Koutoujian’s bid for Congress.
