CONVERSATIONS ABOUT RELIGION, FAITH AND CHRISTIANITY STARTING JAN. 27TH

If you ask most people what it's like to discuss faith and spirituality, they'll probably tell you how quickly a civil conversation can turn into a contentious debate.

Many people want to engage in a meaningful dialogue about God, religion, and the meaning of life, but think you can never have that kind of conversation at a church.

"Conversation? Don't they want me to just keep quiet and listen?"

The Alpha Program offers a different kind of conversation-  in a relaxed, fun, non-threatening, safe place where you are encouraged to air questions, problems, and concerns about faith and church. This is a place for respectful conversations about the origins of Christianity, the Bible, and spirituality.  For over 25 years, Alpha dinners have hosted tens of thousands of people for these sorts of welcoming conversations across the United States and the UK.

Grace Chapel Watertown (opened October 2013) is hosting these Alpha dinner conversations at their building at 525 Main St. in Watertown for ten Monday evenings from 6:45pm-9:00pm beginning January 27.  Alpha starts with a free home-cooked meal followed by a short video presentation, and then informal table discussions where no questions or issues are off limits.  There are no obligations to be met, no fees to be paid, and no obligation to continue beyond the first evening. It is simply a place for people to explore the meaning of life and faith with no fear of being called at home or pressured in any way.

Come to the introductory dinner and discussion- and come back if you find it helpful.  To register or to receive more information about the Alpha Course, contact Valerie McGowan at alpha@grace.org or call 781 862 8351 x143.   Find more information online or sign up at www.grace.org/alpha
