Waltham Stabbing, Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

New Detail In Waltham Triple Murder

Raphael Teken was murdered on Sept. 12, 2011, and new information about him has come to light.

Almost a year since he was murdered, new details reveal was actually living in Waltham when he died,

Originally, the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office said Teken was a Cambridge resident when he died. However, on Friday, Sept. 7, DA spokesman Stephanie Chelf Guyotte told Waltham Patch that Teken was actually living somewhere in Waltham when he was killed.

For up to the minutes news, be sure to 'like' Waltham Patch on Facebook.

Guyotte said investigators' original information indicated Teken was living in Cambridge, but officials later learned Teken was actually living in Waltham. Guyotte declined to give Teken's address. Teken's death certificate, which Waltham Patch reviewed at , lists it as 85 Brown St.

Stay tuned throughout the week for additional updates on the triple murder at 12 Harding Ave.

No disrespect meant to the author, but how is this really a new development? It was no secret where he lived. I was friends with Raf and Brendan. I was with them the day (maybe even hours) before their murder. I'm not involved in the investigation (obviously) but as a person missing a friend, I can't help but feel that this isn't being vigorously investigated because he sold some pot. Doing a "bad" (or illegal) thing doesn't make someone a bad person undeserving of justice. Raf, Brendan (and Eric who I did not know) all deserve to have their killer(s) face the consequences of their actions. Was Raf perfect and without fault? No, but then again, who is? As a person close to him who is dealing with the loss of a friend and this entire chilling ordeal, it saddens me to see that so little progress has been made in this investigation. Unfortunately, I cannot help but wonder if the investigators of this crime feel like Raf is just another one of the "bad guys" that they would have arrested for selling pot anyhow, so why put a bunch of effort into investigating his murder? I *honestly* hope I'm wrong, but after a year the biggest development in the case is that they now know where he lived? Hopefully the anniversary of their murders will reinvigorate the investigators' efforts into this case and closure can be brought to the suffering families and friends of the victims. Raf & B - I miss you both and think fondly of you often.

Thanks for the comment. No offense taken. While a small group of people may known where he actually lived, it was not publicly or widely known. The District Attorney's office, as reported in the story, originally said he was living in Cambridge, which was inaccurate info. They later obtained the correct info but never told the media.

I cant agree with the above comment more. Drugs or no drugs three young men were murdered. Brutally and terribly murdered. Where is the justice? Why is there no coverage of this case? My friend is dead and nothing will bring him back. The more I hear about drugs and Waltham and the less I hear about the murderers walking around who killed him and two other men who were all warm caring amazing poeople-drives me nuts. As if the pain of losing a loved one wasn't enough...it feels like the police don't care. Breaks my heart. Investigate this tragedy!!!

So the totality of the "new" information for this series is that one person actually lived in Waltham, not Cambridge? Not worthy of a "series" IMHO. It's sad that these 3 men lost their lives and I agree with the prior posters that their killers should be identified and brought to justice. Sadly if it was a professional hit, it may be some time before that happens.

Hi Jen, Let me address that. My original plan was to run a 3 story series. It has become five stories because I found new information. One new piece of information was that Teken was living in Waltham and not Cambridge. The story I posted about that corrects previous info, which we are obliged to do. Also, the new info on Teken was not the impetus for the series. Instead, the one year mark since the murders was. Here are two other stories from this week: http://patch.com/A-x3B9 and http://patch.com/A-xzC8 Also, stay tuned for Friday and Saturday stories on the murders. In summary, the new Teken info was never the driving force behind this series.

If you were that close with them I am sure you have an "idea" of who did it. Have you told the police where they were getting their supply? That is obviously who did this...money!!!! They crossed someone they shouldn't have and that is what happens, they send a message!!!You can help find the murderers if you were that close to them...you know more than you are saying.. they do deserve justice and the people who know are afraid to speak up as they should...

Now that we know there is a connection to one of the Boston Bombers, doesn't it seem curious that this assasination was on Sept. 11th??
Isabella Lopez April 22, 2013 at 04:18 PM
....And at least two of the victims were Jewish. And the other bomber was a pot head? Perhaps big brother Tamaran didn't like that his brother was buying pot, especially from Jews?

This is crazy.... The plot thickens... So do you think tamerlan and dzhokhar both were there the night he murdered those three on sep. 11 and that was when dzhokhar became an american citizen.
Moxie April 23, 2013 at 07:12 PM
Dzhokhar became an American citizen one year after the triple murder. But what drug dealer leaves the drugs and the money when he murders someone? Someone was making a statement; what was it?
SDK April 23, 2013 at 08:36 PM
Is it possible that this was a test run for violence, seeing whether he was capable of murdering another person, seeing what would happen if he took action? After all, he had come to see drugs, music, etc. as evil and worthy of death.
