BOSTON - “This isn’t a ‘listening tour’; it’s an active exchange of ideas with voters in their own neighborhoods,” Falchuk said. “The way to best inform my proposals and ideas is by directly speaking with as many voters as possible, rather than just assuming I know what the majority of voters think and want. Too often that kind of engagement is lacking in politics today. Votes should be earned by candidates, not assumed or taken for granted based on antiquated party allegiances.”

Since launching his United Independent Party campaign for Governor last year, Falchuk has visited over 80 cities and towns throughout Massachusetts, where he, campaign volunteers and staff have met directly with thousands of voters, ranging from small business owners, students and parents, to veterans, senior center residents and issue experts.

Falchuk, staff and volunteers will visit every Massachusetts county during the tour over six weeks, with the goal of reaching as many voters as possible with his message of calling for fiscally sensible solutions and pragmatically progressive ideas. The Massachusetts native is convinced from the thousands of voters he’s met throughout the Commonwealth that this is the common-sense combination the majority of voters are looking for.

Indeed, in a 2013 statewide poll conducted by DAPA Research, Inc.’s David Paleologos, 73% of registered voters in Massachusetts said they would support a “non-traditional” candidate for statewide office with a successful business track record, and a centrist party platform focused on fiscally sane solutions and social freedoms – matching Falchuk’s profile and focus. In this same poll, a majority (58%) of respondents said they believe Massachusetts should have a third official independent party committed to fiscal sanity and social freedoms – a major focus of Falchuk’s United Independent Party platform.

“Democrats are keeping an eye on Evan Falchuk, a 44-year-old Newton resident running for governor under the self-styled United Independent Party,” the Associated Press recently reported, while Bloomberg Businessweek picked up news of Falchuk having been named to a national list of “10 Influentials in the Independent Movement to Watch,” featuring politicians and candidates dedicated to countering partisan politics. Falchuk earned a slot on the list alongside U.S. Senators Bernie Sanders, Susan Collins and Angus King.
