Workshop on Outdoor Fun with Kids and Families

Want to feel more comfortable taking your kids out or leading your
youth group in the woods? The Join the Appalachian Mountain Club for a
Workshop on Outdoor Fun with Kids and Families!

Come learn trail
games, naturalist activities, and trip planning skills for families and
groups. In this workshop, we will cover how to plan an outdoor trip,
what to bring, how to stay safe, and of course, how to have fun! You
don't have to be an AMC leader to join; you just have to want to get
outside with kids and gain new ideas!

  • Free and open to the public
  • Be
    prepared to be outside, as most of the workshop will include hands-on
    activities and practice leading groups on the trail. Sturdy shoes, warm
    layers, a water bottle, and rain gear are encouraged. Refreshments will
    be provided.
  • Registration is Required. To register, please send an e-mail to amcoutdoorsrx@outdoors.org. Please include the following information:
  1. Name and phone number
  2. Any dietary restrictions. A snack and beverages will be provided.
  3. Who are you planning to take outside?
a.) Your own kids or grandchildren
b.) An organized group you currently work with
c.) You are learning a new skill to share as a potential AMC volunteer
d.) Other
This information will help make the best use of our time together.
