WalthamSEPAC Announces 2014 Inclusion Award Recipient

The Waltham Special Education Parent Advisory Council is pleased to announce  Waltham Recreation Department has been selected as the recipient of the 2014 Kelly Beaumont Mazzarini Inclusion Award. Students in Waltham have been able to experience the joy of participating alongside their classmates in summer camps, recreation, or leisure programs provided in a fun and safe environment under the direction of Sandra Tomasello for over 30 years. We are very fortunate to have a resource with a dedicated staff and volunteers who work with enthusiasm and passion to meet the needs of our diverse community and create opportunities that better integrate those students with a variety of challenges.
Kelly Beaumont Mazzarini worked to improve the lives of children with special needs and she was an inspiration to many people. This award embodies Kelly’s spirit and the mission of the WalthamSEPAC and is presented at the annual reception to an individual or organization that has demonstrated exemplary service and dedication in their effort to include all children in the community.
The award will be presented at our Year End Reception and Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 6:00pm, at the Arthur J. Clark Government Center. If you would like to recognize someone who has improved the life of a school aged student, please submit a Shining Star nomination (deadline is April 30, 2014) so we can thank and honor them on May 28! Doors open at 6pm and this meeting is free and open to the public.
